Global Payment Initiative (GPI), or SWIFT gpi, is an initiative of SWIFT messaging system to enhance the capabilities of regular SWIFT transactions. GPI aims to increase the payment speed and enable end-to-end tracking while improving the visibility of charges in a transaction.
Currently, more than 4000 institutions have joined the network and upgraded their services in cross-border payments.
