European Merchant Bank (EMBank) continues to consistently strengthen its compliance, corporate governance, and anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CTF) functions. Agnė Duksienė has joined the bank’s leadership team as a member of the Management Board and Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), bringing more than 18 years of experience in the financial sector.

Before joining EMBank, Agnė Duksienė served as Head of Legal, Compliance and Prevention at Artea Bank, where she also held the positions of Member of the Management Board and Chief Compliance Officer. Earlier in her career, she served as Director of the Legal and Compliance Department at the specialized bank GF Bankas and also held the position of Compliance Officer.

Throughout her career, Agnė Duksienė has led strategic initiatives related to bank licensing, acquisition projects, and the implementation of new banking and financial crime prevention systems. She has successfully developed and implemented compliance and financial crime prevention strategies, strengthened internal governance frameworks, and fostered strong compliance cultures across financial institutions.

Agnė Duksienė holds an integrated Master’s degree in Law (Commercial Law) from Vilnius University, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Management from Mykolas Romeris University. She also holds the International Diploma in Anti-Money Laundering awarded by the International Compliance Association (ICA).

According to EMBank Chief Executive Officer Sarp Demiray, strengthening the bank’s compliance and AML/CTF functions remains one of the bank’s highest strategic priorities, with particular focus being placed on these areas throughout this year.

According to Agnė Duksienė, the role of compliance in modern banking extends far beyond ensuring regulatory compliance and has become a fundamental driver of sustainable and responsible business growth.
