Electronic Money Institution License, also known as EMI License, is a basic requirement to issue and redeem electronic money. EMI License enables businesses with the ability to hold client funds without any time limitation.
EMI Licenses are issued by designated regulatory authorities in each country or zone, such as the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the UK or Electronic Money Directive (EMD) in the EU.
